  2. Liek this one: https://www.cyclelab.com/product/3003136-trainer-marvel-t1? Did / do you set the tension? Features: - 26inch/700C or 29er compatible (Trainer tyre) - Foldable easy for storage - Tension adjustable
  3. Opinion: For 20" bikes get the kid a single speed, rigid front fork - or a BMX (short frame). It will be easier for them to learn to jump / bunny hop / wheelie than to pretend to go do marathons and cross country.
  4. Those poeletjes.. I had mud in my mudcrack 🙄 Had to pressure wash my clothes to get the mud out. All might sound very melodramatic, but it was a fun day out there. Cannot wait for next year! The winners did some insane overall speeds. We can only wish we were young (again) Here is one of those poeletjies, the weekend before, acting all innocent with all the pretty blommetjies hanging around And the mess the poeletjies made, which needed some cleaning up. Luckily Twitch behaved herself and never became squirrelly
  5. can you not just press the button at the top of the light for it to dim?
  6. Entries close on Thursday
  7. The past weekend in the Eastern Free State, trying to get stuff dry after being caught in some rain the afternoon, needing shoes, helmet, etc the next weekend. Late evening I took the newspaper out, and swapped it heel to toe. Shoes were dry the next morning
  8. Too early to check the wind direction yet? Will it be faster than last year? Using my moving (non-puncture repair) time of 2025 as goal. I'm not going to post more rides than @NotSoBigBen, so maybe just maybe, I can post a faster time than what @Cyclewizz ever posted...
  9. I present to you the latest, greatest, newest, baddest 36" rear wheeled dual-suspension penny farthing - a bold fusion of future engineering and cycling history, where cutting-edge trail capability meets Victorian-era audacity.
  10. Johan de Villiers and his gravel bike was in the second group as well. 10th overall.
  11. Staying right did not help this bloke much, and they were not even at a water point. (The link starts at 3:30:50)
  12. Johan de Villiers also, two so far. Any more? Anybody?
  13. How much of a thing was gravel bikes in the elite bunch? Heard the commentators mention it
  14. I had aspirations to go (age cat), grew cold feet along the qualification route, unplanned it. Sheesh, FOMO is real! Perhaps I should go do Around the Pot or Khomas100 ...?
  15. To change it, on connect.garmin.com pick a device in top left🤦‍♂️ right 👍corner and then select user settings. For reference, here is mine and I'm 57
  16. They are creep(er)s. They creep up on you and then creep away again.
  17. And speaking of zones, the past year attached. I so not ride on leas than 60g/hour. Maybe slightly less on really long rides, so use PVM bars to top up on those
  18. Saturday was a bit of an effort Had a PVM bar right before the start. I dropped a bottle at 11km after first sip Had to make do with 3 USN vooma gels and 99grams(55g malto, 44 fructose) of carbs in the other. Finished well, maybe a bit too depleted
  19. 😆 The podcast / YouTube channel. Lekker home brewed. Worth a listen/follow in general. 👍 https://www.youtube.com/@activehobo Some crossover with The Breakaway
  20. My ability to train harder, go longer improved dramatically with higher carb intake. Salts/electrolytes are important but not the limiter a lack of carbs during, or post ride is.
  21. A “Danger! Ranger”, or Raptor variant is the rapture for most with the other issues mentioned!
  22. Local pharmacy. Might be able to get it in bulk from the likes of Dischem, but I stay 50km away from the nearest of those.
  23. Bicarb before the event? If you can stomach it...
